Use the resources below to help develop, strengthen, and present your idea. You are not required to use every resource.

Event Resources

  • Participant Guide — Event overview, expectations, timeline, and submission guidance.

  • Track Descriptions — Learn more about the six official tracks: AI, Finance + Tech, Bio + Tech, Cybersecurity, Physics + Tech, and Astronomy + Tech.

  • Judging Criteria — Review how submissions will be evaluated, including impact, originality, feasibility, use of technology, and presentation quality.

  • Pitch Deck Template — A suggested structure for presenting your problem, solution, technology, impact, and implementation plan.

  • Problem Statement Worksheet — Use this to clearly define the challenge your idea addresses.

  • Submission Checklist — Make sure your Devpost submission includes all required components before the deadline.

Research & Idea Development

Participants are encouraged to use credible sources when researching their problem space and developing their solution.

Useful starting points may include:

  • Government and public datasets

  • University and research institution publications

  • Scientific journals and preprint repositories

  • Industry reports

  • Open-source projects and technical documentation

  • Nonprofit and international organization reports

Be sure to credit any external sources, datasets, images, tools, or research used in your submission.

Using AI Tools

AI tools may be used as a supporting resource, but they should not generate the majority of a participant’s submission. Participants are expected to contribute the core problem analysis, solution concept, reasoning, and presentation themselves. Submissions that are primarily AI-generated with little evidence of original student thinking may be disqualified.

If AI tools meaningfully contribute to your submission, clearly disclose how they were used.
